Angelo D'uva

History
With a surname translating to “of the grape” the D’Uva family seemed destined to produce wine.
The titular Angelo refers to the man who, in the 1940s, planted the winery’s first vines as well as his grandson who now runs the winery.
Passed down the generations Grandfather Angelo passed his winery to his son, Sebastiano who with much work, passion and great stubbornness increased the size of Vineyard and it’s production during the 60s and 70s. Sebastiano, in his turn, passed the winery onto the younger Angelo bringing the story full circle.
It was Angelo who decided to move the company into specialising in wine production. From 2001 he started to produce quality wines at the IGT and DOC level. Combining modern winemaking techniques with the generational knowledge obtained working alongside his Grandfather & Father.

How we met Angelo
The first of Angelo's wines we discovered was his Cabernet Sauvignon, Gavio. It quickly became one of our go-to wines, we were rarely without a case or two in our cellar. When we decided to start exporting wine from Molise Angelo was one of the producers near the top of our list.
We had already visited Angelo's vineyard a few times as he has a wonderful restaurant located on-site which is perfect for bringing visiting guests. Unfortunately, just as we decided to start our business relationship the Covid outbreak occurred, not the best timing. Still, as you can see from the photo, taking the required precautions we were able to work around these issues.
Angelo has always impressed us with his dedication to quality and was passionate about explaining his approach & philosophy to wine. We're proud to be able to bring his wines to the UK market as we truly believe they deserve to be discovered by a wider audience.
