History
Claudio began to pursue his dream in the early 90's, to produce a wine that truely refelcted the land where it was grown. In 1998 Claudio planted the first five hectares of vines that he had hand selected. To many around him Claudio's decision was considered insane, the trend at time was towards high yield non-native grape varieties. Claudio instead focused on the low yielding native Tintilia. Thankfully Claudio's stubborness meant he stuck with his original decision.
In 2003 he started work on the construction of a processing cellar and in 2005 he bottled his first wine. From there the winery has gone from strength to strength. Claudio Cirpress's wines are considered some of the premium wines from the Molise region (and Italy itself). On top of that Claudio's dedication to ensuring the whole wine making process is as natural as possible has helped his wines standout from the crowd.

How we met Claudio
Claudio's vineyard is only about a 20-minute drive from where we are currently staying in Molise. As such it was a place we had to go visit. On our first trip, Claudio kindly gave us a tour of the winery and vineyards (which are located stone's throw from the winery). We were blown away by the stunning location, overlooking a beautiful scene of green rolling hills.
We were even more excited by the building work that seemed to be going on at the time of our visit. Apparently, Claudio is transforming the front of the winery into a restaurant and space for cooking classes. We immediately signed ourselves up (on behalf of our guests of course!) to return as some of the first clients when it was completed.
